Five Main Days of Diwali 2024
Here are the five main days of Diwali 2024:
- On October 29, 2024, Dhanteras will be observed.
- On October 31, 2024, the Chhoti Diwali or Naraka Chaturdashi would be observed.
- On November 01, Diwali will be observed.
- On November 02, the fourth day would be celebrated as Govardhan Puja.
- On November 03, 2024, the 5th and final day is celebrated as Bhai Dooj.
Laxmi Puja 2024 Muhrat
One should not perform Lakshmi puja during Pradosh Kaal. It starts after sunset and lasts for 2 hours and 24 minutes. Mahanishita Kaal is considered best to perform Lakshmi Puja by tantriks and pandits. Normal people can perform it during Pradosh Kaal Muhrat.
One should not perform the Lakshmi puja during Choghdaiya Muhrat as those Muhrat are best suited for travelling. Instead, perform it during Pradosh Kaal when Sthir Lagna is there. If the Laxmi Puja is performed during that time, Maa Laxmi will stay at your place. Vrishabha Lagna is considered as Sthir and mostly overlaps with Pradosh Kaal during Diwali festivity.
Laxmi Puja Muhrat

Keep a red cloth at the right side of a raised platform. Then, install idol of Maa Laxmi and Bhagwan Ganesha on it. Adorn it with silk clothes and jewellery. One should keep a white cloth at the left side of the raised platform and install Navagraha’s on that. Devotee should prepare 09 slots of Akshata to install Navagraha on the white cloth and prepare 16 slots of wheat on the red cloth.
Offer kheer, sweets, batashe to deities. It is believed that on this day, Maa Lakshmi visits the houses of the devotees and blesses them.
