Rama Ekadashi Puja Vidhi
The Rama Ekadashi puja Vidhi is as follows:
- On this day, worshippers should consume satvik food only. They should not eat cereals, rice or anything after sunrise.
- They should not eat or drink anything. The fast gets concluded on the next day at the Parana time.
- The devotees should wake up early take a bath and pray to Bhagwan Vishnu. Offer him flowers, fruits, and bhog.
- Perform the aarti and once it is completed, distribute the prasad.
- Stay awake in the night and listen to the stories of Bhagwan Vishnu and sing bhajans.
- Devotees also worship Devi Lakshmi on this day.

Rama Ekadashi Vrat Katha
Once, there was a king named Munchkunda. He had a daughter – Chandrabhaga, who was married to Shobhan. Shobhan was the son of King Chandrasen. King Munchkunda was a great devotee of Bhagwan Vishnu, he always instructed others to observe Rama Ekadashi. His daughter also used to observe the vrat.
On one of the Rama Ekadashi days, both Shobhan and Chandrabhaga were present with King Munchkunda. Prince Shobhan was also required to observe the fast. However, because of his poor health, he was finding it hard to continue the vrat. He told this to his wife, who instructed him to leave the kingdom as everyone including animals had observed this vrat.
However, the prince did not like the suggestion and instead chose to stay and continue with the fast. Due to poor health and hunger, he died at midnight. King Munchkunda set the body afloat and did not allow his daughter to perform Sati. She stayed in the kingdom with her father and ardently observed the fast. Meanwhile, the prince was revived back to life, as he has kept the fast despite poor health. Bhagwan Vishnu gifted him a unique kingdom of Devpur at the top of the Mandarchal mountains. However, because he observed vrat forcefully, he was not able to see the kingdom. Only his wife could make him see that.
A Brahmin was wandering in the kingdom of the Devpur and saw and recongised the prince Shobhan. The Brahmin were shocked to see and wanted to know how was he brought back to life and acquired such a beautiful kingdom. The prince told him everything and told him that he wished to see his wife, who can make him see his kingdom.
The Brahmin returned and narrated everything to the princess. Chandrabhaga was so happy to know that her husband was alive. She went to Devpur and with the help of the blessings she received as a result of observing vrat, she turned the kingdom of Devpur. Chandrabhaga and Shobhan were able to rule the kingdom forever.
