Navagraha Stotram (II श्री नवग्रह स्तोत्र II )
All the 9 planets (Nava Graha) in our solar system (Surya Mandal) directly or indirectly influence our lives in many ways. Many times they have ill effects on our lives if they are unfavourably positioned in our natal chart and that leads to a very unhappy, unsuccessful, sometimes diseased and miserable life. This Navgraha Stotram or Navagraha Mantra is written by Maharishi Ved Vyasa. It is very useful in warding off the ill effects of malefic planets or unfavourable planetary position and transit on our lives. You can chant these Navgraha mantras (also called Navgraha Shant Mantra) regularly to bring peace and prosperity to your life.
Navagraha Stotram is a set of mantras for Navagraha Puja, dedicated to 9 planets (Grahas). Regular recitation of the Navgraha mantra acts as a very powerful healing tool to reduce the bad or unfavourable influence of planets in our Kundali or birth chart.

Surya (Sun) Mantra
जपाकुसुमसंकाशं काश्यपेयं महाद्युतिम् । ।
तमोऽरिं सर्वपापघ्नं प्रणतोऽस्मि दिवाकरम् ॥ १ ॥
Japa kusuma sankasam kashya peyum mahadyuthim
Thamorim sarva papaghanam pranatosmi divakaram
The one who is red in colour like the hibiscus flower, who is born in the Kashyapa lineage, O the brightest one.
The remover of darkness, the destroyer of sins, Lord Diwakara (another name for Sun god), I prostrate to you.

Chandra (Moon) Mantra
दधिशङ्खतुषाराभं क्षीरोदार्णवसम्भवम् ।
नमामि शशिनं सोमं शम्भोर्मुकुटभूषणम् ॥२॥
Dadhi sankha thusharabham kshirodarnava sambhavam
Namami sasinam somam shabhormukuta bhushanam
The one who shines in the white colour like that of curd or conch or snow, who is born from the Milky Ocean (Ksheerasagara).
I bow to you Chandradev (Moon), who has a hare symbol on him, the one who is present as the ornament on the crown of the God Shiva.

Mangal (Mars) Mantra
धरणीगर्भसम्भूतं विद्युत्कान्तिसमप्रभम् ।
कुमारं शक्तिहस्तं तं मङ्गलं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ ३ ॥
Dharani garbha sambhootham vidyuthi kanthi samaprabham
Kumaram sakthi hastam tam mangalam pranamamyaham
O, the one who is born to the Earth, who radiates like the brilliance of a thunderbolt.
The son (of the earth), who has the divine powers in his hands, I prostrate to you, Lord Kuja (Mangala).
Benefits: Relief from enemies, diseases and debts
Budha (Mercury) Mantra
प्रियङ्गुकलिकाश्यामं रूपेणाप्रतिमं बुधम् ।
सौम्यं सौम्यगुणोपेतं तं बुधं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ ४ ॥
Priyangu kalikashyamam roopena pratimam budham
Soumyam soumyagunopetam tam budham pranamamyaham
Present in the green colour resembling the bud of the Kadamba tree, O the Lord Budha with unequalled body. Who is gentle, filled with divine attributes, I prostrate to you, Lord Budha.

Guru (Jupiter) Mantra
देवानां च ऋषीणां च गुरुं काञ्चनसंनिभम् ।
बुद्धिभूतं त्रिलोकेशं तं नमामि बृहस्पतिम् ॥ ५ ॥
Devanam cha rishinam cha gurum kanchana sannibham
Budhhibhootam trilokesham tam namami brihaspatim
The Guru of the Devas and Rishis, who shines like that of gold.
The intellectual one, Lord (Guru) to the three Lokas, I bow to you, Lord Brihaspati.
Benefits: Success, fame, wisdom, wealth and fortune.
Shukra (Venus) Mantra
हिमकुंद मृणालाभं दैत्यानां परमं गुरुम् I
सर्वशास्त्र प्रवक्तारं भार्गवं प्रणमाम्यहम् II ६ II
Himakunda mrunalabham daityaanam paramam gurum
Sarava sasthra pravaktaram bhargavam pranamamyaham
The one who is compared to the attributes like snow, jasmine, and the stem of the lotus (Mrunala), who is the best or superior Guru to the Daityas.
An expert in all the Sastras, O Bhargava/Sukra (another name of Sukracharya), I prostrate before you.
Benefits: Money, luxury, comfort, good love life, good relationships and property.
Shani (Saturn) Mantra
नीलाञ्जनसमाभासं रविपुत्रं यमाग्रजम् ।
छायामार्तण्डसम्भूतं तं नमामि शनैश्चरम् ॥ ७ ॥
Neelanjana samabhasam raviputram yamagrajam
Chhayya marthanda sambhootam tam namami sanaicharam
Shining in the colour of black traditional kajal, the son of the Ravi (Surya) and the brother of Yama.
Who was born to Chayadevi and Marthanda Surya, I bow to that Lord Shanischara(Shani).

Rahu Mantra
अर्धकायं महावीर्यं चन्द्रादित्यविमर्दनम् ।
सिंहिकागर्भसम्भूतं तं राहुं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ ८ ॥
Ardha kayam mahaveeryam chandradhithiya vimardanam
Simihika garbha sambhootam tam rahum pranamamayaham
The one with the half body, full of valour (signifying the dominance), the one who obstructs and opposes the Sun and Moon.
Who is born as the son of Simhika (sister of the Hiranyakashipa), I prostrate before you, Lord Rahu.

Ketu Mantra
पलाशपुष्पसंकाशं तारकाग्रहमस्तकम् ।
रौद्रं रौद्रात्मकं घोरं तं केतुं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ ९ ॥
Palasa pushpa sankasam taarakagraha mastakam
Roudram roudratmakam ghoram tam ketum pranamamyaham
Shining in the colour of Palasha flowers (flowers of the ‘flame of forest’ tree), which acts likea head to the stars and planets.
Who is furious, full of furious aspects, terrifying (to the wicked people), O Lord Ketu, I prostrate before you.
Benefits: Wisdom, spiritual progress and progress in life.
Benefits of Chanting the Stotram
इति व्यासमुखोद्गीतं यः पठेत् सुसमाहितः ।
दिवा वा यदि वा रात्रौ विघ्नशान्तिर्भविष्यति॥ १० ॥
Ithi Vyasa mukhod-geetam yah pathet-susamahitaha
Divaa va yadi va ratrau vighna santir bhavishyathi
Thus, ends the Navagraha Stotram (Hymns of praise to the Navagrahas) composed by Shri Vyasa.
Reciting this stotram written by Maharishi Vyasa makes one sovereign and powerful.
नरनारीनृपाणां भवेद्दुःस्वप्ननाशनम्।
ऐश्वर्यमतुलं तेषामारोग्यं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ॥ ११ ॥
Naranaaree nrupanam cha bhavedduhu Swapna nasanam
Aishwarya matulam teshamarogyam pushtivardhanam
Also, for the ones who chant this stotram, either the men, women, or kings will be saved from the effects of bad dreams.
Those will also be granted with unparalleled wealth, good health, and nourishment.
॥ महर्षिव्यासविरचितं नवग्रहस्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
Graha-nakshatrajaha peedah taskaraagni samudbhavaha
Taah sarwaaha prasamam yamti vyaso brute na samsayaha
Those who chant will also be saved from the troubles caused by planets and the stars and also from the troubles of thieves or fire.
There should be no doubt (Samsaya) about the Navgraha Mantra written by Vyasa Muni. Chanting these Navgraha mantras on particular days is helpful for positive planetary blessings, peace, progress, happiness and success in life.
