It has been said that during the Indo-Pak war of 1965, the Pakistani army targeted this temple and dropped around 3000 bombs on it. And around 45 of them even landed on the outer premises of the temple. However, the bombs completely failed to cause any damage. And the people survived without even a single scratch. Even the soldiers themselves, who took shelter under the temple, were unhurt.
It has been said that the deity appeared in the dreams of the soldiers and promised them protection if they stayed around the temple.
It has been said that since Tanot Mata was the incarnation of Mata Hinglaj, it is protected by Bhagwan Bhairo, a form of Mahadev himself. Even the BSF jawans themselves perform arti at the temple. The temple is now under the BSF for security reasons.
Tanot Mata Mandir Miracle of 1971
During the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the Pakistani army prepared to attack India on the western front, Rajasthan. And there were only around 120 jawans posted at the post near Tanot Mata Mandir. On December 4, the Pak army attacked the post with the full battalion and even bombed the temple premises once again with countless shells. But they were not able to cause damage to the temple once again. And those 120 soldiers crushed the Pakistan squadron successfully. In history, every soldier who tried to attack here was killed.
The BSF soldiers, whenever passing through this divine temple, always kneel and bow down in front of the deity.
