Namoastro Event Calender 2023

Derived from the word calendae, which signifies the first day of the month in the Roman calendar, a calendar is an important system for organising and listing key events within a year, in addition to assigning a different date to each day.

As in all cultures, the Indian version of a calendar plays a significant role in the the Hindu society. The systems used by a calendar could be either solar (synchronised to the movement of the sun), lunar (in sync with the motions of the moon) or lunisolar (combination of solar and lunar calendars). The Gregorian calendar, used internationally, is a purely solar calendar. The Hindu Calendar, on the other hand, uses the lunisolar system to keep us aligned with major festivals and vrats throughout the year.

The Indian Calendar, widely in use in the Indian subcontinent, helps keep track of festivals and major holidays and natural events throughout the year. Namoastro provides you with a list of all major Festivals and Vrats and major holidays falling under the Indian Calendar.
